About the Role

We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and customer service driven Senior Underwriting Consultant to join our Customer Service Department in our Short-term Insurance Division at our Contact Centre in Centurion.
As a Senior Underwriting Consultant, you will be responsible delivering exceptional performance and ensuring business objectives are met through effective and efficient customer service. Your expertise will inspire excellence in customer centricity, enhance productivity. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all administrative and underwriting functions on new and existing member's profiles and by provide accurate advice regarding risk and cover.

 Job Outputs:

  • Assess the risks associated with new business and renewals, determining appropriate coverage and premiums.
  • Liaise with insurers and members to offer competitive and profitable insurance policies.
  • Analyse underwriting guidelines and standards, ensuring that policies are properly underwritten.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant insurance regulations and company policies
  • Provide efficient and effective claims support and administration
  • Ensure efficient and accurate advice is provided, in line with FAIS legislation
  • Handle escalated queries and complaints
  • Ensure adherence to risk and compliance requirements
  • Ensure service levels agreements are met
  • Ensure the retention of policies and members
  • Upselling on existing business

Required Qualifications:

  • National Senior Certificate/ Matric 
  • FAIS credits on NQF level 4 or a full FSCA aligned qualification as per legislation
  • Regulatory examination 5: Representative (RE5)

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' applicable Personal Lines Short-term Insurance Underwriting/Claims experience
  • Minimum 1 year Contact Centre experience
